Viva’s 5G+ Network in Syunik and Vayots Dzor: Armenia’s Only 5G+ Network Now Available in Yerevan and 32 Cities Across 8 Regions

Viva continues to expand Armenia’s first and only 5G+ network, bringing next-generation connectivity to the south of the country. 5G+ technology is now available in Goris, Kapan, Kajaran, and Sisian, as well as in Jermuk, Vayk, and Yeghegnadzor. With the expansion of the country’s sole 5G+ network into Syunik and Vayots Dzor regions, the service now covers approximately 80% of Armenia’s inhabited areas.

The rollout of 5G+ in southern Armenia—specifically in Syunik and Vayots Dzor regions—is more than just a geographical expansion. Next-generation connectivity is now available in cities that each play a vital role in the country’s economic, tourism, industrial, and transport sectors.

To inspect the progress of the 5G+ network expansion firsthand, Viva’s General Director Armen Avetisian visited Goris. He also visited base stations to review the final stages of the 5G+ technology implementation. The speed test recorded download speeds of 522 Mbps and upload speeds of 91.24 Mbps.

“Residents of Goris, where the 5G+ network has already been deployed, deserve state-of-the-art connectivity—right here in their own city. Today, Viva’s 5G+ is available in Goris and six other cities across Syunik and Vayots Dzor regions. I invite everyone to visit Viva and experience these new capabilities personally. We are investing in our network so you can work, study, grow your business, and stay connected with loved ones more comfortably. Trust is earned not through statements, but through consistently high-quality connectivity. So, my invitation is simple: try Viva where you live and work, and see for yourself. The future of connectivity has arrived in Goris and other major cities across the country. Join Viva!” Viva’s General Director Armen Avetisian said.

The 5G+ network delivers higher data speeds and enables the use of complex AI-driven solutions, the deployment of large-scale Internet of Things (IoT) systems, and the development of advanced cloud services. The technology also facilitates real-time data processing; supports solutions based on virtual and augmented reality and digital twins; enables remote equipment monitoring and industrial automation; and offers next-generation interactive digital entertainment alongside other cutting-edge services.

Global experience demonstrates that the large-scale deployment of 5G+ networks can significantly impact economic development, enhance competitiveness, and foster the creation of digital ecosystems. This strategic vision drove Viva to make the largest investment in Armenian history to acquire radio frequency spectrum. As a result, the Company now possesses double its previous frequency resources. Securing the license to use frequencies allocated for 5G established the necessary foundation for deploying the 5G+ network and developing next-generation digital services and solutions.

In July of this year, Viva received a Speedtest award recognizing it as the operator of the fastest mobile network in Armenia for the first half of 2026.

It is worth noting that in July 2026, Viva became the first operator in Armenia to launch a 5G+ network, providing access to next-generation connectivity in Yerevan as well as in cities across Shirak, Lori, Tavush, Gegharkunik, Kotayk, and Aragatsotn regions. Thanks to continued expansion, the 5G+ network is now available across approximately 80% of Armenia’s inhabited areas. Efforts to expand the 5G+ network are proceeding rapidly, with the aim of covering additional cities throughout the country’s regions.
