Meghraton 2026: Honey, Bee Products and Beekeeping Innovations at Yerevan’s Yeraz Park
On 19-20 September, Yerevan’s Yeraz Park will host Meghraton 2026 – an annual exhibition and marketplace for honey and other bee products – bringing together beekeepers, producers, and consumers from across Armenia.
The fourth edition of Meghraton aims to promote the sale of locally produced honey and bee products by creating opportunities for direct interaction and collaboration among consumers, producers, and industry organisations. Visitors will have the opportunity to build long-term, trusted relationships with Armenian producers, as well as taste and purchase honey and bee products from different regions of Armenia, including beeswax, bee pollen, propolis, and cosmetics.
The festival also provides an important platform for small-scale producers to showcase their products, expand their market opportunities, and increase their income.
Beyond fostering collaboration and promoting sales, Meghraton also supports the introduction of innovative approaches in the sector, boosts the productivity among beekeeping households, and contributes to the sustainable development of beekeeping in Armenia. Participants and visitors will have the opportunity to learn about AI-powered “smart hive” management solutions that enable beekeepers to monitor conditions inside hives—including temperature and humidity—and analyse collected data to support the early detection and prevention of potential diseases and other problems.
The event will feature professional discussions on the challenges and opportunities facing the beekeeping sector, as well as workshops on the prevention and management of bee diseases, technologies for producing bee products, and ways to promote them. The services of the Beekeeping Forge Scientific and Educational Research Centre, based in Margahovit, Lori Region, will also be presented. The centre provides services aimed at improving the productivity and competitiveness of beekeeping enterprises. It was established through the joint investment by the Beekeeping Forge Scientific and Educational Research Centre and the Sustainable Inclusive Growth in Mountainous Armenia (SIGMA) project, funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).
Alongside the professional discussions, “Meghraton 2026” will also feature an entertainment programme, including folk music and dance performances and a variety of games.
The event is organised by the Beekeeping Academy NGO in partnership with the Beekeeping Forge Scientific-Educational Centre. The event is supported by Acba Federation and the Sustainable Inclusive Growth in Mountainous Armenia (SIGMA) project.
